Warner Robins Transfer
April 8, 2024
Both Elder Pearson and I got transferred out of Sharpsburg. I'm now in Warner Robins, with my new companion, Elder Perry. I have yet to meet a large portion of the teaching pool, but I've met some cool folks here.
Sounds like y'all have been having a ton of fun (we talked to him while in Cancun). I loved Helaman Tours last time I was there, and it's awesome that you got to meet Helaman himself. I've read the Book of Mormon a ton while on the mission, and this last week, I read through the Boom of Omni and the first few chapters of Mosiah. It's incredible how much history and doctrine are packed into these books. I love the insight on the hieroglyphics and the gift of seership.
General conference is always wonderful as a missionary. We watch it at the church and took a ton of notes. My favorite talk was given by Elder Jeffrey R. Holland on prayer. I loved the part where he talked about Jesus Christ praying and needing to "pierce the heavens." As a missionary I've really started to see just how powerful prayers are! I can attest that our prayers are always answered according to the will of the Lord. I also loved Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf's talk about receiving a higher joy. A lot can change with your attitude, and if you seek joy, especially that higher joy, you can receive it.
As for general updates this week, right before I left Sharpsburg Elder Pearson and I put JD on date for baptism, and that was very exciting. We also went with the sisters to Trilith Mall where some Marvel movies have been filmed. We spent a lot of time knocking, and in my new area, we have a lot of referrals to visit. For P-Day today, Elder Perry went fishing while I watched and played guitar.
